The route from Battipaglia starts out great almost immediately. You climb right up into the mountains and have a spectacular view of the coast to the right and rock faces to the left. The road is in great shape with no potholes or deterioration until two thirds of the way when you enter the Avelin...
Cilento SS18 Campania/Molise/Puglia ..., Italien Februar 7, 2011 - 4.0
The SS18 is the best road in the Cilento Coastal area. No traffic to speak of since there is a main highway that parallels this route. The road surface is fantastic for the first 75% of the route from the south which is so curvy you won't believe it.
Most of this road is new asphalt on a great twisty route. You ride most of the way through the forest and don't have the greatest view until before you head down to Serino. At that point the view is absolutely unbelievable. The is a view point to stop and admire the view from the top. This would...
This ride has great views and great roads. Late spring to early fall is the best time since the elevations get quite high. There is a great motorcycle restaurant on one of the best turns along the route (41.73878, 13.81133). You can sit and watch the sport bikes tear it up.
About half of this road has been resurfaced in the last year providing a racetrack quality ride in the early turns. The other half is still good grip surface but with many deformations from the geologic activity in the area. Scenery of the National Park is fantastic in many different locations alo...
Starting of as quite a fast road as it runs east, the SP9 soon tightens up and offers many satisfying opportunities to scrape various pieces of your motorcycle should you feel the need.
From Sperlonga you climb right up the side of the cliffs to a spectacular view of the coastline. The road is in great shape with lots of twisty climbs. The route goes through a regional park that is pristine with very little car traffic. The town of Itri has a great castle that is worth stopping ...
All of this road has been repaved in the last two years. From a distance on the map a good portion looks straight. It is far from it. there are countless curves as you traverse the pass through the mountains. It is like doing a downhill slalom on skis.
a wonderful way to travel fron the north to the south of the boot toe and enjoy typically wonderful italian scenery. Lots of nice corners, some lakees and many elevation changes, very nice.
The coast road from Paestum to Salerno isn that interestng but after looking at the Greek Temples for a few hours its good to prepare yourself for the rigours of the Amalfi Coast Road.
Avoid weekends, the road is full of local nutters in cars and bikes (scooters as well) cutting all ...
