The route starts from the famous village of Askifou (known as Sfakia too), runs on top of Lefka Ori mountains and through the impressive gorge of Imbros with unbelievable views of Libyan (Southern Cretan) Sea. From Chora Sfakion you can take a boat to Loutro (a beautiful small village which can be access only by boat or from E4 footpath) and to Agia Roumeli (the village where Samaria Gorge ends).
